instruction
Students from the studio regularly place in the top of their sections at state honor festivals, receive distinguished marks in solo & ensemble competitions, and have been accepted to some of the most prestigious collegiate music programs in the country including the Julliard School, Oberlin, the New England Conservatory and Yale University.
Sight-reading, sight-singing, music theory and history are stressed regularly to create well-rounded musicianship. Additionally, audition psychology, mock auditions and performance enhancement techniques are emphasized in order to prepare students for competitions and collegiate auditions.
Though the studio is generally comprised of advanced low brass students, the gifted beginner or intermediate may constitute an exception.
"...If he is lucky, each student gets one mentor who inspires that student for the rest of his life, both intellectually and spiritually. Adam is one such teacher to me. Not only is his mastery of music pedagogy remarkable, but so too is his ability to connect trombone playing to more profound life lessons and skills, which I still keep close to heart in all pursuits..."
